From what the Universal Orlando Resort property looks like today, many guests don’t recall that less than 8 years ago there were only 3 hotels on site. Today, Universal Orlando offers 8 hotel properties with a brand new theme park under construction. Cabana Bay Beach Resort reigns supreme as the largest individual on-site hotel with approximately 2,200 rooms. Many guests say Cabana Bay Beach Resort is their favorite. Why do people like this resort hotel?
Cabana Bay Beach Resort is rated as value plus.
More value means lower cost / features but more than value hotels like The Endless Summer Resorts. This means the rooms won’t cost you too much. Now I mainly visit during the low season. However, I tend to pay less than $ 100 a night on average when I stay in Cabana Bay. Considering the cost of a comparable value room and a stylish room at Walt Disney World, Cabana Bay is great value for money.
Cabana Bay is literally next to the Volcano Bay Water Park.
If you are planning to visit the Volcano Bay Water Park, you must consider staying here. There are even rooms with views of Volcano Bay at Cabana Bay. Since you get early entry to Volcano Bay Park, you’ll want to get up early. Staying in Cabana Bay makes it easy. The edge of the Cabana Bay Beach Resort property is a short walk from the Volcano Bay property. You have a state-of-the-art water park right next to your resort hotel.
Cabana Bay offers excellent pools and poolside amenities.
Cabana Bay offers two large swimming pools. A swimming pool gives people a small slide to enjoy. The other pool has a real lazy river. Both pools have poolside bars offering quality food and drinks. Especially if you have older teens / kids the pool will keep them entertained for hours. On a trip when my son was a younger teenager, he asked to spend a day enjoying the pools instead of the roller coaster.
Cabana Bay offers many more amenities than you would expect from a premium resort hotel.
For example, on the second floor there is a real bowling alley. The arcade area will keep family members entertained for a while. Cabana Bay also offers its guests a gigantic fitness center. Usually on a Friday late afternoon or early evening, the characters meet and greet each other in the lobby.
Cabana Bay serves many varieties of dining options.
As mentioned, both pools offer dining options. An excellent Starbucks serves customers from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Galaxy Bowl bowling alley sells quality grill style food. The main food court, Bayliner Diner, features a wide variety of better-than-expected dining options at a premium price. Some of those previously reviewed items at Pirates and Princesses are Cabana Bay Burger and Cuban Sandwich if you’re interested. Some theme park media visit this food court often just for the burger itself.
Now Cabana Bay has some traits that we don’t like. No hotel shines perfectly. However, if you are looking for a vacation that won’t wreck your budget, Cabana Bay should be considered.
