It was a relaxing evening when I took a walk on the pristine beach of Wong Amat. The sun set over the North Pattaya skyline and the azure sky began to turn pink and orange as a brisk sea breeze swept through. It seemed like a reward for vacationers staying at Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya.
Just a 90-minute drive from Bangkok, this resort is surrounded by a ring of cafes, restaurants, bars and shopping malls, but remains a favorite hideaway for families looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and spending quality time. enjoying leisure activities on a beautiful white sand beach background.
Design and installation
With the theme of the lost world, this 5 star resort is built to look like a deep jungle and its decor reminded me of a fun adventure in Zuma Deluxemy favorite action-puzzle game in which the player blasts magic balls from a stone frog while on a treasure quest.
Facing the beach, two 19-story buildings resemble a colossal stone cliff rising from a strait in the Gulf of Thailand, while the Lost World-themed water park with a freeform pool sits in the middle of the mysterious rainforest, with a network of slides carrying treasure hunters to explore a winding lazy river and monsoon island.
The Lost World Adventure Land is the latest addition to the property. It features inventive new attractions to heighten your excitement like the SkyRider, which will let families dive and soar through the air, or the SkyTrail, which will put your sporting skills to the test by allowing you to cross one of the two obstacle courses.
A three-story play area is filled with thrilling speed slides, a trampoline area, a raft game and a digging pit where young archaeologists can learn to dig dinosaur bones, while the Cave Zone offers family entertainment, including a soft program – a children’s cinema screening, wooden toys and a soft Lego floor. Arts and crafts programs and cooking classes are also offered to young people.
Spa Cenvaree is located in a coastal village and offers a wide selection of traditional aromatherapy and therapeutic massages and Vichy treatments, as well as a pedicure and manicure salon and a meditation pavilion to soothe your soul. Alternatively, you can burn calories in a fully equipped fitness center and tennis courts during the day.
Featuring a contemporary Thai-style decoration, this seaside resort offers 555 rooms and suites from 42 m² to 360 m². Each room has a furnished balcony or an expansive terrace overlooking the lush garden and the ocean.
I spent one night in a 42m² Club Mirage Premium Deluxe Ocean View room with leather and oak stained wood furniture that allowed me to dream of camping in a deep jungle and sleeping in an exotic treehouse.
My comfortable room was outfitted with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and DVD player to entertain guests, as well as a workstation, small living area and private balcony. ‘where guests can enjoy spectacular sea and sunset views. .
A mini-bar area offers a coffee and tea maker and a closet contains slippers, a safe and a set of linens. Free Wi-Fi was stable, but there were only a few accessible power outlets, which made it problematic to charge smartphones and tablets at the same time. The transparent bathroom is modest but large enough to house a bathtub, a sink with all amenities, a shower and a separate toilet.
Here, I took advantage of the Club Mirage program, exclusive to guests staying in Club Mirage rooms and suites. I escaped the morning crowds by having an early bird continental breakfast in a private club lounge from 7-10:30am.
I also had access to the Zulu Family Club during the day and could re-energize with midday soup, afternoon tea, a pre-dinner cocktail and a variety of teas, coffees, soft drinks and Juice.
Other perks include free two-piece laundry per room per day, 10% discount on spa treatments at SpaCenvaree, free meeting room use for up to two hours per stay, and free internet via LAN cable in the room.
With the advent of the Seafood Bonanza Buffet offering every Saturday night, Oasis Restaurant is becoming a popular new dining destination. I enjoyed the wide assortment of freshly grilled seafood, including blue crab, lobster, river prawns and squid, as well as the sushi and sashimi stations at the Oyster Bar, which cost 649 baht for children and 1,299 baht for adults. Another highlight is a large section dedicated to Asian and Western sweets, which will complete your holiday experience.
