Guests can lounge in the resort’s two swimming pools, pamper themselves at the spa, work out in the upgraded fitness studio, and dine in the unique split-level restaurant and bar.
Nalu Bar & Grill is the property’s brand new restaurant concept that incorporates a modern open flame barbecue with global influence and an intimate rooftop bar with magnificent ocean views.
The transformation of the resort, including the Nalu Bar & Grill, reception areas, as well as guest rooms and suites, was designed by Santhaya & Associates (S + A), Thailand’s oldest architectural firm, established in 1963.
Based in Bangkok, the award-winning firm is led by Dutch-Thai architect Faun Israsena, whose grandfather founded the agency, alongside Belgian interior designer Sophie Bughin. The company is a long-time partner of Outrigger, having worked on several projects for the hotel brand in Thailand, Mauritius and Fiji.
S + A designs celebrate local culture, tradition and history, connecting communities and providing inspiration; it’s in line with Outrigger’s goal to be a place where local culture meets world-class hospitality.
In addition to this property, Outrigger plans to open the Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort, a 90-minute drive north of Phuket Airport, on December 15, as well as the Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort by Easter. 2022.
