There’s a new place to grab a margarita and take in the views, in Pebble Beach. Named after the redesigned nine-hole Tiger Woods course it overlooks – and by extension former Head Pro Peter Hay – Hay’s Place is meant to be as laid-back and welcoming as its namesake. The restaurant, the newest addition to the Pebble Beach Resort’s line-up of dining options, offers a fresh Mexican-inspired menu with views of Carmel Bay and, in the distance, Point Lobos. It opened on Thursday, October 7.
“It’s the perfect place to relax after a round of golf, cheer on friends and family while they play at The Hay, or just enjoy some amazing food and drink,” said David Stivers, CEO of Pebble Beach Company, in a statement.
The menu offers options such as ceviche, elote and birria tacos – one of the highlights is the plate of enchiladas del mar with daily catches, lobster and shrimp enchiladas made from blue corn tortillas made by hand. And then there’s the drink menu, ranging from a signature margarita with fresh lime and Big Sur salt to “El Rey”, with mezcal and prickly pear. mash potatoes.
The restaurant itself offers views of the golf course and the coast beyond, and opens to two sides, creating an indoor-outdoor atmosphere. Outdoors, the large patio is furnished with lounge furniture and tables.
Hay’s Place is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
